The Saw-whet Owl (Aegolicus acadicus)  is native to North America and one of its smallest species and perhaps the ‘cutest’.  Often they are found in dense thickets or conifers at eye level.  Many migrate south in winter.  They prey mainly on small rodents, fewer birds, but have taken Rock Pigeons 4x their weight.
