The Brown Creeper  (Certhia americana) is in the family Certhidae, and is the only North American member of the family, breeding mainly in mature coniferous forests in the north, but south in the mountains into Mexico.  They forage on trees climbing upwards, then fly down near the base of another tree repeating the action of probing for insects.
