Sea Anemones, Order Actinaria, belong to the Phylum Cnidara, that includes Jellyfish and Corals. They are among the most primitive multi-celled animals, with only one opening to the gut serving for both mouth and anus. Tentacles have cells on them containing nematocysts that spring open and harpoon when touched, injecting a paralyzing neurotoxin to capture prey.
