The Gray Catbird, Dumetella carolinensis is a member of the family Mimidae within the Order Passeriformes and can be found in most of the US east of the Rocky Mountains.  Like other members of its family it mimics the calls of other birds, but also tree frogs and even mechanical sounds, singing each phrase only once usually, in contrast to the Mockingbird and Brown Thrasher that repeat phrases.
