Heliconiinae is a subfamily of Nymphalidae, the Brush-footed Butterflies.  It now includes Fritillaries, as well as Heliconians, and some other types of species. Heliconians are more tropical.  Their larvae, as with Monarchs, usually feed on poisonous plants, becoming poisonous themselves.  There is lots of mimicry in the tribe, both Batesian and Mullerean varieties.
