The White-winged Scoter (Melanitta deglandi) is a North American sea duck, and the largest scoter. It breeds in the far north, nesting in woodland or tundra on the ground near the sea, rivers or lakes. It dives mainly for Arthropods in fresh water, and more molluscs in salt water. Below are shots and videos of males and females diving, feeding on crayfish or Zebra mussels, interacting with other ducks.
